45 years ago today...

I was 18 when I married Bill, he was 23

in many ways, we were just babies and we grew up together

his grandparents lived into their late 80's, early 90's

I did the math even before we said our "I do's"

we should have easily shared at least 50 years, probably 60 or more

we got 37 anniversaries

it took me several years before I understood that August 6 was still a day to celebrate

Sarah and her girls came last night to spend the weekend with me

today we went school shopping, to lunch and she bought me flowers

my other children have sent messages or called

I'm so thankful for the life I have today because of the person I married 45 years ago
