a family room full of family

Being part of a family is very important to me. My DNA family is scattered all over. My mom and brother's live 300 miles away. My children are serving where God has called them, all over the United States and in the country of Georgia. I have often had a conversation with Him that goes something like this; "God, I birthed and raised six kids to adulthood. Couldn't You have left at least one of them and their family in Grayson?" His answer right now is "no" and sometimes I grieve that.

BUT He is good and so kind.

Tonight He gave me a vivid picture of what He has done for me. Just look at part of the family He's given me. These are some of the brothers and sisters and sons and daughters who do live in or near Grayson. Tonight we gathered at my house for a meeting. My heart and spirit were energized as I listened to conversations buzzing around me and saw my furniture being used.

What a blessing it was to have a family room full of family.

"Sing to God, sing in praise of His name,
    extol Him who rides on the clouds;
    rejoice before Him—His name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
    is God in His holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,
    He leads out the prisoners with singing;
    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land."
Psalm 68:4-6
