life is better...
This shirt has seen a lot of wear since my back surgery. I like the color, it is oversized so I can wear it with leggings and it is so soft. Last week when I wore it to soccer practice one my guys commented, "But mom, you aren't even wearing flip flops." "I don't think wearing flip flops and trying to walk on that big gravel is on my best interest" was my reply. He agreed.
I used to wear flip flops everywhere. From the first signs of spring until almost snow fall. My back has changed that practice and now I wear them only at home. I have two pair of croc brand, 1 navy, 1 black. I keep a pair by each door that I go in and out of the house from. Who has time or energy to stop and put on socks and tennis shoes to go to the mailbox or to sit on the back porch or quickly walk (that's a relative description) to the shed? Also, my feet need to breathe when it's hot or I feel like I am suffocating!
"Life is better in flip flops" ... until it isn't.
These have served me well.
They've seen a lot of laughter.
A lot of quiet reading.
Some tears.
I am not the only one who's worn them, they've protected my girls feet too.
Those flip flops have been faithful every time they were needed.
Until they weren't.
Goodbye old friends, thanks for the memories.
You could have just put them away until next spring.
ReplyDeleteIt’s way too early to put them away, as a matter of fact they stay out all year round 🤣
DeleteBut, big sigh, one broke…
