it doesn't belong here
this is what my driveway looks like this evening
all of that was behind or inside the building in my backyard
it's stuff that doesn't belong here
or at Sarah's
or at Beth's
or at Ruth's
or at Jonathan's
that's why Ruth and I worked all day moving it to the drive
that's why Sarah and Beth are coming in tomorrow
a yard sale will be in full force Friday and Saturday
hopefully all of that will find a home
how did it all end up here?
well, at one time one of us thought we needed it
and, more than likely, we did
but, as time passes things change
needs change
personal styles change
and you can end up with something like this mound of treasures
you may be asking
"If they are treasures, why are you willing to part with them"
I hope the adage is true
"one's man's trash is another man's treasure"
tonight I am thinking
of how easy it is to fall into a rut
to hold onto things that no longer work
to keep things that just don't fit anymore
of how hard it is to admit
that was not a wise choice to begin with
the one(s) who used that aren't around anymore
of how much work it was to move all of that today
of how much easier it will be to get rid of things as their usefulness passes
...and about how I need to apply these thoughts to habits in my life
as much or more than I do to "stuff" I own...
now to share a picture of the first thing I moved this morning:
what doesn't belong here?
at my house, yes, just not in this place
