sideline passion
There is no place that tests my Christianity like the sidelines of a sporting event my children are involved in.
Tonight during Ruth's soccer game I was about pushed over the limit.
I do not like officials to control the game, but I also think it is their job to keep the game under control.
When they don't kids usually end up getting hurt.
Thankfully, there were no serious injuries tonight, but we do have a couple of girls who will definitely need ice bags for the next couple of days.
I am a little ashamed of myself.
Not because of anything I said or did tonight, but because I don't remember the last time I was as passionate about doing anything for Christ as I was tonight about speaking out against bad officiating.
"Lord, please forgive me for getting passionate about things that are fleeting and being passive about things eternal. Please have Your way in me and change my heart. I want to be carried away by loving You, seeking You, serving You. In Jesus name, Amen"
