rainbow tears
life has been unpredictable the last twelve days
the longer I stood there,
the brighter and more full it got
and the more energized and refreshed I felt
plans that had been made for weeks were changed
last minute plans quickly required adjustment and re-adjustment(s)
miles of unexpected travel
days filled with uncertainty and unknowns
several reasons to pray fervently
many opportunities to praise lavishly
awkward moments
uncomfortable comments and questions
awkward moments
uncomfortable comments and questions
situations that demanded practice in "flexibility"
it all added up to exhaustion
mentally
emotionally
physically
spiritually
and learning that I am not nearly as flexible as I thought I was
this evening I decided I was staying home rather than cleaning OG
I spent some time on the back porch relaxing with the dogs
came in and attacked the pile that accumulated the 10 days I was in Akron

was in the middle of playing Lumosity Brain Games when I heard thunder
I like a good summer storm and thought about heading back outside
but I was in the middle of a word game and those are my favorites
so I sat where I was
over the top of my computer I noticed the sky had turned an odd color
a color that intrigued me,
beckoned me,
beckoned me,
wooed me,
convinced me to shut my computer in the middle of a game and stand
it was about 8:35 pm as I made my way across the family room
I opened the back door and stepped out on the porch,
intending to go to the edge to look west, behind me,
when I looked up, in front of me
the longer I stood there,
the brighter and more full it got
and the more energized and refreshed I felt
finally I sat down on the swing and basked in the beauty,
tears of thankfulness and praise running down my cheeks
Thank you Father for providing exactly what I needed tonight
