City Lights Matthew 5:14

 

Matthew 5:14 (NASB)

¹⁴ “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;"

"You are the light of the world."
Not
you might be
you can be
or
if you want to be-
"You are the light of the world".
Period.

We are the light of the world.
Light dispels darkness.
"A city set on a hill cannot be hidden";
A city is comprised of groups of people living and going about their business.
The church is a mixture of people.
In this context, I propose that churches could be considered a city.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;"

Sometimes it seems the that the church is hidden.
That the light is not making much of an impact on the darkness.
I am wondering if it has to do with where our city is set and what business we are about.
