missing my knight in shining armor

memories of Bill,

my knight in shining armor,

the one who swept me off my feet,

the one who protected and rescued me,

have flooded my mind the past few days

and tonight my heart literally aches with missing him

my chest feels like a vise is squeezing tighter and tighter

even as tears make tracks down my cheeks

I realize he still takes my breath away,

thoughts of him make my heart beat faster and stronger,

I am thankful I was his and he was mine

and if this pain is the price of having loved and been loved by him

I will gladly bear it
