8/365 2020 Never the wrong time to do right
She was crippled.
Bent over and couldn't straighten at all.
Jesus saw her.
He called her to Himself.
He touched her.
He healed her.
She stood straight up.
She praised God.
The Pharisees, the religious leaders, saw it all.
They did not praise God.
They were livid.
It might have been the right thing to do, but it was the wrong day of the week.
I can imagine their self righteous indignation as they "instructed":
"There are six days to work, so come and be healed on those days, not the Sabbath."
The Pharisees could not see clearly.
They were blind to their hypocrisy.
Jesus pointed it out to them.
Clearly.
They missed a beautiful opportunity to praise God.
Compassion, healing, comforting, restoring, setting the bound free-none of those are work.
my takeaway:
There is never a wrong time to do the right thing.
There is never a wrong time to do the right thing.
Sometimes religious people won't agree or understand.
That's okay.
You don't answer to them.
Follow Jesus' example.
Don't allow tradition or misinterpretation to keep you from doing good.
from Luke 13:10-17
