31/366 Getting Our Ducks in a Row (or geese)

Andrew and Bre were able to  stay for a full week when they were home to celebrate Christmas/New Years. Beth, Sarah and their families had to leave Wednesday morning. Thursday afternoon was relatively warm so we took Abram out to Grayson Lake. It is a special place full of different memories for each one of us.

this is where Andrew proposed to Bre

When we got out of the van I noticed a flock of geese off to my left, between the playground equipment and the lake.

My kids used this swing set.
I'm still not a fan of the frightening clown head.

Abe played on the big climbing set for a bit, then we headed down the hill to the swings.

Ahead of us were more geese. We definitely had to watch where we walked.

I watched as a goose from the first group got close to second group. It was not a pretty sight or sound as feathers were ruffled and indignant honking began. It was obvious he or she was not welcome to join their group.

I shook my head and thought "What in the world is wrong with you ? You are all geese! Why can't you just get along and accept one another without a fuss?"

Immediately an image of the "church" popped into my head and I wondered if that is what some of our interactions look like to a lost and dying world... No wonder some people simply walk away rather than risk approaching.
