the lost one mattered
it didn't matter what percentage was still "safe"

only 100% would do

the man with 99 sheep in the pen went searching for the lost one
the woman with 9 coins in the bank looked for the one missing
the father with a responsible son at home longed for his disrespectful, wandering heathen one to return

and each one who was seeking rejoiced when the lost was found
they called their neighbors in
they celebrated

1 or 9
which 1 of 2

where are you in these numbers?
it matters
if you are lost, 
there is One who will never stop seeking you,
One who is eager to restore you to the place you belong

if you are home, surrounded, but missing one
either "lost" or already in their eternal home,
it matters, 
it doesn't mean you don't appreciate what you have if you hurt over one who is missing
and it is a beautiful thing to look forward to celebrating when you are together again, here or there

"For the Son of Man (Jesus) came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms.
