it's been a good Monday

what was my Monday full of?
life
choices
a vastly wide variety of activity and memories,
purging and rehoming,
normal maintenance,
preparing for Deborah's family coming home,

finding new homes for the animal  costumes I've   collected since my first  grandchild, who will be   celebrating her  21st birthday this summer, was big   enough to enjoy playing play dress up...
washing down closet walls and floors in four of five bedrooms,
sorting and organizing the contents of three of them,
wondering why I kept some things I found in them
enjoying my lilac blooms

sitting in a lawn chair for 2 hours watching my KCU guys practice soccer,
a DQ supper,
then yard work

there is something sweetly satisfying about getting my hands dirty, achieving a freshly manicured lawn-even though that means my fingernails are far from manicured, not they they normally are, but usually they are not green tinted
I ended the day visiting with Anita while watching Izak play baseball in Grayson, embracing memories of Bill coaching on these fields, our boys playing on these fields and looking forward to watching Benjamin play later this week in Russell
it's been a good Monday
