forgiveness

this is what a healthy Peace Lily looks like

this is what that same plant looked like this morning

pitiful

I have neglected it, and it shows

the thing is,

this isn't the first instance that I've forgotten to water it

I knew that if I gave it a drink

it would forgive me and perk up within a few hours

I want to be that forgiving and not hold grudges

because my soul shrivels up

and my attitude isn't attractive when I don't
