love is patient

love keeps no record of wrongs

love rejoices with the truth

love always protects

love always trusts

love always perseveres

love must be sincere

Friendship involves many things

here are just a few:

Realizing that we are all different

and accepting the differences.

Listening

to what is unsaid.

Rejoicing

celebrating their victories.

Grieving with them

for as long as it takes.

Laughing with them

not at them.

Praying with them

as well as for them.

Trust

involves vulnerability

Forgiveness

we all fail.

Allowing them into your life

while encouraging them to live theirs.

Friendship is a gift,

but it also is a responsibility.

I pray that I am never so caught up in my own life

that I am unaware of times I need to lay mine down
and invest in yours.
