  • the ones I sit with in Chapel every Tuesday and Thursday mornings
  • the ones I watch practice for two hours every day
  • the young men who refuse to allow me to carry my chair out to the pitch and gently reprimand me if they see me doing so                         More than once I have heard, "Mom, what do you think you are doing? Put that down, I will get it."
  • the ones who join me or invite me to join them if they see me alone in the cafeteria they have been known to take my dishes up when I finish and if there is time we sit and chat
  • they have called me over to join their prayer circle after practice
  • they have surrounded me and prayed over me
  • their names are lifted before the Lord every day and if there is something specific I am aware of, it gets prayed about
  • this is the team I get to join on the sidelines at games
  • this is the team I travel with
actually,
this is not a team, we are family
and these guys take good care of me

here are a few more examples to add to the one I wrote about in my last post

somewhere in this house are a couple of pictures that were colored for me

Christian made two flowers out of napkins for me, they make me smile

there is a note from Ryan on my bulletin board that came at "just the right time" to strengthen my courage, it is priceless

I have been the recipient of countless hugs

Tuesday night as we stood in line to order food Logan said, "Mom, you move to the front of the line. Guys, let mom in front." Despite my protest to the contrary they parted like the Red Sea and I found myself ordering first.

Wednesday night I managed to remain at the back of the line after a short discussion. They had all ordered and Logan asked, "Mom, have you ordered your food yet?" "No, I am waiting for coach, I left my wallet on the bus." "Get up here and order, I will pay for your meal."

some of the things I hear on a regular basis:

"Mom, will you hold this for me?"

"Mom, can I put this in your bag?"

"Mom, you doing okay?"

"Mom, do you need anything?"

"Mom, do you have any ibuprofen/Tylenol/Aleve/Advil?"

"mom, can you pray about/for..."

"thanks mom!"

"love you mom"

1,2,3 Team
4,5,6 Family
