a lazy Sunday 96/366

back porch sitting on a fine spring day
sun shining
bees buzzing
birds chirping
dogs laying at my feet 
surrounded by the smell of fresh cut grass
and lilacs, just beginning to open
looking for and finding joy in what is at hand
rather than grousing about what is beyond my reach for now
made for a beautiful afternoon and evening 
actually, 
when practiced faithfully
it makes all of life beautiful

"The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
