driven by passion 97/366

When I think of passion, I think of an unquenchable, burning desire

I googled the word, just to check my understanding

the first definition: strong and barely controllable emotion

the second: the suffering and death of Jesus

the origin:

use of the word over time,

passion has its roots in suffering
it compels and strengthens us to act
the trend above is telling:
the less we use a word,
the less we understand it

This is the week of the year many people call "Passion" or "Holy".
I pray that these are more than easily tossed about descriptive words for you,
that this week is more than a religious observation or celebration.

Because the love of God is lavish.
The Passion of Christ is real.
The Father and the Son suffered, so we might have a Savior.

I pray that this week your understanding of God's love deepens.
I pray that His Passion for you is not ignored or misunderstood.
I pray that His suffering on your behalf was not in vain.
I pray for you to have a life changing encounter with the Creator and Sustainer of life.
I pray that you are swept off your feet by His Passion
and that you never let go of holding onto Him.
in short,
I pray for you, and I,
an ever deepening, intimate relationship with Him.

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8

"The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:9-14

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." 1 John 4:9-11
