today, Friday April 3rd is the 94th day of 2020
this year is 25% spent,
recently in ways we could not have imagined or foretold
ways we were not prepared for
we are being forced, 
on a global level,
to look at and "do" life differently
it is impossible to ignore the staggering truths that 
our way of life is not bulletproof
there are things outside of our control that affect us personally
we are not guaranteed tomorrow




however, in the midst of swirling uncertainty,
I don't want to be blinded to the things I can influence and "control"
I want to focus on and invest in what matters:
my attitude
my thought patterns
my actions and reactions
my relationships 

• building and maintaining healthy ones, 
• doing what is in my power to mend or repair broken ones

by 

• creating opportunities to make good memories
• speaking/writing life giving words
• offering encouragement
• engaging in acts of service
• sending surprises
• sharing a smile 
• being kind
• exercising patience
• thinking about what others need
• checking in on the people I love
• doing what I can to protect those who need extra care

In January I shared that my 2020 vision is to downsize 
especially excuses
that vision/goal has only gotten more important
I want to use my resources wisely
especially time and prayer and energy

I don't want to waste what has been entrusted to my care

I don't want to be afraid to do things differently
I want to wisely employ technology to make a positive impact
(messages, phone calls, texts, emails, messages, blogging)

I want to resurrect the habit of using pen, paper and postage stamps
I want to live life with purpose
I want to live a legacy worth leaving
