ice cream date and a new skill in the making

Today Deborah and I took Gabriel and Moriah with us on our adventures. We went to Luca Polare, a shoppe Selah and Abigail often meet friends at. It serves sandwiches, salads, desserts and decadent ice cream. I was tempted to try pomegranate today, but instead went with Almond Caramel. It was a good life choice. Gabriel and Deborah chose strawberry, Moriah wanted chocolate.

We spent a bit of time at the park between the shoppe and the apartment.

I tried to do something new before our ice cream date, but chickened out.

On the way home though, I went for it.

I exchanged American dollars for Lari.

The process includes taking your passport and new looking cash

walking to a manned desk and being given a number.
(I also had to ask if I could exchange $20 American for Lari because we weren't sure they would/could accept that low of a denomination.)

Walking upstairs and waiting for my number to show up on a display

going to the correct cubicle and handing over my cash and passport.

While I was waiting, armed guards came in and one happened to stand beside me while his partner went back behind the locked door and safety glass to get the deposit to take to the armored car to transport.

The most unsettling thing I experienced was the cashier asking me in Georgian if I wanted Pounds or Lari...

Next on our agenda is a piece of cake. Gabriel has a soccer game at 6:00.
