moving, pruning, changes
Moving to a new place means packing boxes, moving boxes and and unpacking boxes. But wait, there's always more!
Like taking care of repairs/maintenance that didn't show up during the walk through. Deciding where things should go in the new house.
Those are jobs for the new owners, namely Sarah and Kourtney who got the keys for their new house Tuesday night and were able to begin moving in Wednesday.
I had responsibilities through Thursday that kept me in Grayson. I wasn't planning on coming, but I decided to surprise them on Friday. Time enough that most of the moving of said boxes was done before I arrived.
The whole Funk family has been involved in moving and unpacking and putting things in their place, especially Sarah, Noell, Kaelyn, Korah and Willow while Kourtney has focused on repairs because that's one of his strengths.
I assigned myself a job when I arrived. Landscaping, more precisely trimming and pruning and weeding. It's hard work, but it's work I enjoy which makes it not so much work as an enjoyable experience.
Sarah and I have been talking the past two days about pruning and how it is difficult, how much time it takes, but how it is needed for new, healthy growth.
I am thankful for God, the Master Gardener, who has and continues to work in my life. I'm not tame by any means, but I'm not nearly as wild as I used to be!
