thirsty for more

It is Wednesday evening of camp team training
I am sitting by myself in one of the rooms
everyone else is at the gym
I'm heading there
but first I needed take a minute to reflect and share

today

has

been

exhausting

and it has been beyond beautiful

yesterday we took a short walk
we made several stops,
and when we were done
we compared the view in front of us
to what a person's experience with God might look like

we started far away, unable to see the water

progressing to get a glimpse of the bank

acknowledging that if we didn't know what "that" was,
if we had never seen it,
we would probably to be curious

we talked about going forward,
and the reality that it would be very possible
for something to interfere with or block our progress

we stood in the back of our main training room,
closer,
but unable to see

we moved to the glass where we were able to see the water,
and how sometimes want to get closer,
but are not sure how to break through the barrier

we moved outside, onto the balcony,
close enough to clearly see and hear the water,
but we were still not "there"

we went to the swings
we talked about beginning at the gym and our move toward the water,
then I asked the group to stand
we had one more place to go-
the shore

there they were challenged to not be content being close,
but to choose to actually go all in
and experience the difference of touching the living water, first hand

to close yesterday's training the four older adults shared their stories of faith
we challenged the young adults to think about their experience with God
we asked them to evaluate where they are

they've done it
they've worked on having their testimonies ready to share
we've listened to three
and my heart is full of praise
these nine young adults have tasted the *living water and they thirst for more
but they aren't content with drinking for themselves only,
they want to share with others so they too can have their thirst satisfied
*John 4:1-26
