dear fellow, weary traveller

dear fellow traveller,
I see you
I hear you
maybe you aren't weary today,
but if you get to a place of weariness,
know that I am here to walk beside you
we are better together

it is a rainy, gray, chilly day in my little corner of the world
the kind of day that magnifies weariness
and shrinks motivation
the kind that calls me to curl up with a good book
or take a nap or both

it's also a Friday the 29th
Bill's last day on earth was a Friday the 29th
I miss him so I treated myself to coffee in one of his mugs
it isn't something I normally do,
but today it felt good and right and comforting

a few days ago I heard a new song which spoke to my soul
a friend shared it on FB last night
it's perfect for me today
maybe you need to hear it too
Thank you Jordan St. Cyr for recording Weary Traveller

and thank you God for these gifts this morning:
a chat with mom Bondurant
messages from family
Ruth sent school pictures of Xavier and Mia
Jess sent a text that made my heart smile
Jonathan came and fixed my upstairs heating unit blower
Romans 8
we aren't meant to live this life alone-
send the text
make the phone call
stop by for a visit
send a note or card
connect with someone you love today
it makes the road less wearisome
we are better together

"Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
