KCU Homecoming 2021
This is Homecoming weekend for KCU. It's been full of memories and introductions, allowing me to put faces to names my new(ish) friends mention. Hearing about escapades from their college years and experiences they've shared since then has been both informative and fun. Saturday night I was part of a large group of alumni who were gathered around a firepit at Tiffany and Garrett's. Izzak tapped me on the shoulder and honored me by asking if I wanted to light a luminary. I've never held a luminary until it is full and released it. I've seen others do it, but to be involved, hands on, was surreal. The one I was given just kept going higher and higher. I know it isn't possible, but it looked like it was going to kiss the stars. As I let go of it, and watched it rise, something inside of me shifted. I can't quite identify what it is, but something is different and I have a new treasure to deposit in my memory bank.
