driven

Since April 13 I have been driven any and everywhere I needed or wanted to be. I think it's been that long since I locked my front door from the outside as well. That's a long time to be the passenger and bystander when you are used to being the driver and one in charge for any and everywhere you want or need to be. It has taught me that I was in the habit of making unnecessary trips. It has taught me that my kids are really good drivers and caretakers, and that I have precious friends who are willing to go out of their way when my kids aren't available. This morning I had a choice to make: stay home from church and watch online or get behind the wheel and take a solo flight. I chose to fly. I am so glad I did because now I know I can. I won't be going anywhere much farther than 5 minutes by myself anytime soon, but Dollar(plus)Tree, Foodfair, Tractor Supply and BLC are within that range. It may not seem like much to you, but to my driven self, it is another sign that this snail like process of healing is still progressing.Who knows, I might venture out to Edison Road or Webbville later this week. But for now, I'm done. Lunch and back porch sitting will provide a rest.
