penny perspective

small?
insignificant?
worthless?
depends on your perspective I guess

I saw it, heads up, on the asphalt
as I skirted puddles, hurrying toward warmth.
It looks rough, doesn't it?
It feels even rougher.

I would be hard pressed to see one of these 
and not stop to pick it up.
In spite of what it looks like,
it's worth remains the same.

You may only see a beat up penny.
I see a priceless reminder from God.
No matter what I face as I travel this road
it is always safe for me to trust my God.
