birthing a ministry 70/366
About 5 weeks ago I mentioned a ministry opportunity I was invited to take part in. I've been silent about it because the time was not right to speak. Since then there have been a lot of prayers, many meetings and lots of words written. We had to decide what our focus/purpose was going to be and chose this verse as our Scriptural foundation:
We have developed and refined a MVVGS document and I am pleased to be able to publicly announce that a KCU Women's Ministry has been birthed.
Today 29 female adult faculty and staff were given an index card with the names of 5 female students. Tomorrow 6 more adults will get cards. (I couldn't deliver them all this afternoon.) Each day our female students names will be lifted up in prayer.
Every student, every day, individually lifted before the Lord.
Sometime within the next two weeks (spring break begins this weekend) 35 female students will be given the name of an adult to pray for. Every day.
Why prayer for one another?
"love your neighbor as yourself"
And we believe that prayer is a solid foundation to build a movement on. We are ready to see God move on our campus, in the lives of our students and faculty.
We are excited.
We are also buckling down, praying diligently over this, because new birth is fragile. And you better believe that the enemy is not going to like the changes that are bound to take place as prayer becomes foundational to the culture at KCU.
I invite you to:
- rejoice with us
- pray alongside/over us
- send us encouragement
- join us
- if you have a particular skill that would help us accomplish our goals, by all means, contact me!
