an offer I couldn't refuse 123/366
She made me an offer I couldn't refuse, not one more time.
Anita has asked several times if I wanted to come out to the farm and porch visit.
I have had to turn her down repeatedly.
She asked again this morning.
I knew how healing the farm on a beautiful spring day would be and I wanted to go.
BUT
Deborah was going to call, an infrequent treat that would last an hour or more.
I had two rooms to put back together, laundry, laundry, laundry and yard work.
I responded with "If by some miracle I get all that done before dark I'll come out."
I worked relentlessly.
At 5 she texted: "We are going to grill hamburgers, want to come eat?"
I replied I still had yard work. My earliest ETA was 6:30.
She didn't get my text and called at 6.
I needed to finish the lawn and was afraid it might be too late because it might be 7.
Without missing a beat she said, nope, not too late, come out.
And so this evening I was treated to a delicious meal
with wonderful company
topped off with a campfire.
Today was another day of hugs for my heart, mind and soul.
Thank you Ron and Anita for sharing your life with me.
