there are some things in life I refuse to skimp on:
peanut butter
toilet paper
kleenex
charcoal

I worked outside all afternoon and evening. Mowing, weedeating and cleaning behind the building. I have been simultaneously visiting my childhood. Someone in my neighborhood was grilling with charcoal. My mouth has been watering for a burger, well done and yet not dry with mustard and dill pickle slices or a hot dog left on until it is blackened topped with mustard and sweet relish. As I type this I'm also remembering homemade potato and macaroni salad, deviled eggs, chips, store brand black cherry soda, and roasting marshmallows for desert. Gas grills may be quicker and more convenient but there is just something special about meat cooked on a charcoal grill...

anyone else put there ever not pay attention and step on a hot coal barefoot?
