one at a time 139/366
knowing my yard will be mowed at least once a week until October could be daunting
but it isn't, because I only think about the next time it will need done,
not on how many next times there will be
knowing the flower beds and berry patch will need weeded again and again
can be discouraging
but taking one area, pulling one weed at a time makes it something I like to do
the lilacs were trimmed last week
the old fashioned cabbage rose bush got some attention today
one faded or spent blossom removed at a time gets the pruning done
my fitbit showing 11,716 steps at 7:49 pm is a pleasant surprise
I didn't count them as I worked,
I simply took them, one at a time
I don't know what "big" task lies ahead of you
I don't know if it looms threateningly, if it will be a shock
or if it is an exciting, much anticipated challenge
I do know, unless you have a magic potion or machine
it won't get done by wishful thinking or snapping your fingers
rather, it will get done one thing at a time
and our minutes, our hours, our days, our weeks, our months, our years?
they all are filled and pass the same way
one thing, one experience, one situation at a time
the good
the bad
the ugly
the hard
the easy
the painful
the joyful
the happy
the sad
and all things in between
every "one thing" has its own particular purpose
in molding and shaping us into the person we are now,
and the person we will become
we are a conglomerate of our experiences
and no one thing, positive or negative, has the power to forever define us
one at a time
we can make changes in ourselves that need to be made
one at a time
we can face moments that, if faced as a whole would crush us
one at a time we can make a positive difference in this world
