even the best laid plans... 161/366

some of the kids and grandkids came to celebrate my birthday this evening
supper plans, children taking full responsibility:
grilled chicken, potato salad, fresh fruit, grilled corn, cheesecake
things were going smoothly and smelling delicious
Jonathan, the grill master flipped the chicken and turned to say something
evidently I have been lax in cleaning out the grease tray
black smoke and flames billowed out of the grill
















after some fancy dancing
and maneuvering
the fire was out
we were all injury free
the chicken was done
and we had a delicious dinner
sometimes what looks like a disaster turns out to be pretty good...

there may or may not have been an impromptu trip to KFC...
