ready for company 156/366

some of the children are coming!
their children are coming!
so I cleaned and did laundry yesterday,
shopped for a few groceries today,
(thank goodness for an Aldi nearby,
table and counter were full until I put everything away,
and my bank account isn't empty!)

I am hoping while they are here this weekend 
and some into next week
that someone will be able to explain new math me,
because surely that is what was used to get the numbers on this package:

old math:
8 servings
440 total calories
440/8=55

new math:
8 servings
each serving is 50 calories
8x50=440 total calories

here is another puzzler:

1 serving per container (about 7 chips)
I emptied one bag onto a plate
and this is the 3rd or 4th bag I've opened with the same result
ummm, old math says that's more than 7 chips...

anyone else confused?
