a simply beautiful day 360/366

what made today beautiful?

of first importance:

it is the day of the year set apart to celebrate the birth of Jesus

what else made today beautiful:

simplicity

there was no hustle

no bustle

no stress

outside snow covered everything

white pine boughs bowing low and not breaking

sunbeams breaking through the clouds over the hills and trees

inside there were 

calls and 

texts and 

messages

and facetime visits from loved ones who live away

this afternoon I introduced my brother Greg and his sons

to friends who've become family 

and those friends immediately welcomed them in as family!

as we four sat playing Yahtzee at the end of this Christmas day

one thought kept running through my mind:

true beauty isn't found in glitz, glamour or fancy wrappings, however costly, 

truly, nothing in this life is more beautiful or precious 

than building and investing in relationships by simply sharing life and love
