signs of spring

it's spring, 

even if the calendar says it isn't yet.

it's the time of year you can watch the lilac buds open, 

day by day

left is Thursday afternoon, right is Friday

purple viola's sprinkle color in the neighbor's lawn

daffodils bloom in random clusters along the road

water stands in the field cows grazed in the fall

some of those cows have a calf

the night flowering jasmine is beginning to show signs of life

and needs to be cleaned from the fence

I got a start on it Friday afternoon since it was 60 degrees and sunny

my hyacinths are beginning to come up, 

soon they will bloom like the crocus and daffodils 

(unless my dogs lay on them)

 

yep. it's spring

that time of year you can have a 60 degree afternoon

and a winter snowstorm that same night

 

and on days like yesterday,

when I didn't get eggs and bacon for breakfast

I am likely to have them for an afternoon snack...
