was the text Beth sent in the family chat this afternoon

and my heart dropped,

clear down to my toes

because that doesn't look good, not good at all

after my granddaughter's visit to urgent care

my heart rose,

full of thanksgiving

because she's okay

and I know this could have turned out so much differently...

we all know this truth:

a car can be replaced,

a loved one cannot
