soccer family
I was late heading to soccer practice Tuesday afternoon. No reason in particular, I just couldn't seem to get out the door and I almost chose to skip.
As I walked toward the bermuda I was faced with the back of a man I didn't recognize and quickly scanned the group of young men practicing to identify the recruit. I didn't see any strangers.
When I approached him to introduce myself he looked over at me and a big smile lit up his face. I immediately found myself in a very big, very warm, very welcome hug.
Wimbai was at KCU (we won't say how many) years ago. I am glad I chose to go to practice and I am thankful he loves soccer and came to watch my guys because if he hadn't, I would have missed the blessing of spending a bit of time with him.
Soccer has brought some amazing people into my life.
It really is more than a game.
At least at KCU it is.
We are family.
My heart is full tonight.
