leaks
This post is a follow up to Tuesday's post about the leak
and an introduction to other leaks.
God is so good to me!
Yesterday (Wednesday) morning I got up and made the phone call
I needed to make about the leak in the bathroom.
The man I needed to talk to was very kind.
(I knew he would be, I simply don't like making phone calls in general, and when it involves an "issue" I dread making them.)
He made time to come and look at the problem yesterday afternoon. He did not have everything he needed to properly investigate and make repairs, so he came back this morning.
After climbing on my roof searching for where rain could be coming into the house, he came down, rang the door bell, I joined him outside and we discussed what he had found.
1) He had identified the area that he felt rain was coming in and causing the leak. (I have forgotten what he said was wrong, but it was something he felt responsible to make right.)
2) He discovered two nail holes on the roof that could be causing a different leak. (I thought "I will need to find someone to repair that", I knew it wasn't anything he could possibly be responsible for.)
3) A vent pipe had some deterioration. Enough that he was surprised it did not leak. (I thought "it may leak and we just don't know it yet.") His kindness led him to volunteer to caulk it so there would not be a leak.
I came in the house and he went back on the roof to work.
About an hour later the door bell rang.
He repaired the area he felt was the culprit.
(We hope. After we get a good rain to make sure there is no leak he is going to come back and repair the ceiling.)
He also filled the nail holes with some roofing stuff and hopes it fixed the other leak.
He had hoped to caulk the vent pipe, but once he started working he found there was much more damage than he could tell when he simply looked at it. So he got down off the roof, went to the hardware store, bought what he needed to properly repair it, went back up on the roof and made the repair.
He did not have to fix the nail holes for free.
He did not have to go to the trouble he went to with the vent pipe.
But he did.
Today Linford was God's hands and feet to me.
Tonight I am thanking God for His faithfulness, His kindness,
His provision and His watch care over me.
God is so good to me.
