tell me
I may remember,
but more likely will forget

show me
the chances increase
for retention

let me "do"
and I get it-
it is mine

relationships have taught me a lot of "stuff"

words are powerful
for hurting
for healing

words are not necessarily indicators of truth

time is not cheap
time cannot be duplicated
you make time for what is important

doing "nothing" with someone you love is not a waste of time

love is a gift
love requires sacrifice
love is meant to be shared

love is a living thing, it needs to be nurtured

how I have learned to recognize love:

tell me 
you love me
I hear it

show me
you love me
I will listen to you

consistently love me
I trust you
I believe you

I am thankful God loves me.
I am thankful for the people who love me.
I am thankful for the people I am privileged to love.
