why do I write?

I write because:

I can't not write

it helps me process life

it forces me to think before I "speak"

it helps me identify what I am feeling and thinking

it allows me to share more clearly what is in my heart-
at least, part of what is there...all of it would be too much

When I write:

sometimes the words come quickly

sometimes they seem to write themselves

sometimes I am surprised at the direction they take

sometimes it takes hours to write what can be read in minutes. 

sometimes I have no idea what is inside of me, needing to come out, until it is on the screen


When I prepare to hit "publish" or "share":

I sometimes hesitate

I always re-read, several times

I usually have a few corrections/clarifications to make

I sometimes scrap and re-write what I thought was a done deal

I hope what I have written will be helpful to someone and that God is honored and pleased
