Tonight I verified that the Athletic Director at one of the Universities we compete against worked at the same High School Bill worked at before we moved to Grayson. When we played against them last year and coach mentioned his name I wondered if it could be the same man. I was fairly confident it was, but I felt too raw to speak to him. I regretted it afterward. Tonight we travelled back to that school. Ben was there. Before the game I asked if he had worked at CVCA and he said yes. I introduced myself as Bill's wife, not as an identity but as an identifier. It was good to be able to visit for a few minutes and to share with him that Bill respected and spoke well of him.
Out of my comfort zone?
WAY OUT.
Difficult?
Very.
Necessary?
Yes.
Most definitely yes.
I have come to the sobering conclusion
that the "easy button" I sometimes look for
is in the same classification as the Unicorn.
