props, extras and plots

the props are much the same,
and most of the "extras" have not changed,
but with the leading man leaving the story,
though things are familiar,
everything is different

my role has changed,
the story line is unfamiliar
and as I learn to play this new part
I find myself constantly looking to the Director
for confirmation that I am where I need to be

I do not know
what other twists are in the plot
I do know
that the Author and Perfecter of my faith is working daily
I simply want to remain faithful to the Story

"***Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:1-2
***If a sentence begins with "therefore" you need to find out what comes before it, because what comes before is essential to what is about to be written. Hebrews 11 is the "Hall of Faith" chapter. It is a record of people who chose to walk by faith, in obedience, even when they did not "see" what God was doing. They are witnesses to the truth that living a life of faith in the midst of uncertainty, difficulty and even death, is possible. I want to live so that my name can be added to that list. Jesus is the author who makes my story of faith possible.
