Tears and Comfort
Today has been a hard day.
A day of random tears.
They started before I got out of bed.
Came back during chapel.
While watching soccer practice this afternoon, more fell.
A call from the insurance company almost started the ugly cry.
I just wanted to be held.
Composed once again, I settled in to watch the last 45 minutes of practice.
The girls stopped 30 minutes early.
I thought coach was testing them to see if they would do some extra running.
They went, as a group toward the corner of the building.
I was so proud, convinced they were starting an Indian Run.
Then they came back, toward me, with a gift bag.
The floodgates opened.
I opened the bag and the ugly cry broke out.
The team had this throw made for me.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father,
who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,
comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word."
Today God worked through my women's soccer team to comfort and strengthen my heart.
