bats and balls 296/366

I have never been up close and personal with a bat like this,

until yesterday

when one wandered too close to the pond and Tiffany rescued it

I have a long history with this type of bat (and ball) and its kinfolk

from playing pick up games with my brothers and neighbors as a child

to marrying a man who loved the game and played from little league through college

church league softball for both Bill and I

sons who played little league for a few years

a daughter who played softball

wiffle ball games with the kids

and now the grandkids

but it's been a while

tonight I watched Anita's grandsons play for the second time this summer, so fun

I definitely need more bats (of the second variety) and balls in my life...
