this girl is 9 years old
and one of her favorite shows?
The Chosen
last night we watched three episodes
tonight we are watching again,
we are finishing our second one
we have laughed
we have cried
and she would sit and watch 
all eight of the first season 
one after another tonight into early morning
if we finish the last episode 
watching her 
watch stories about Jesus
listening to her questions when she does not understand
to hear her momma explain
is a beautiful, heart filling thing

at the end of episode seven Jesus calls Matthew to follow Him

Peter says "I don't get it"

Jesus replies "you didn't get it when I called you either" 

Peter: "But that was different, I wasn't a tax collector"

Jesus looks Peter square in the eye and replies

"Get used to different."

I had to stop and ask myself:

"Are you comfortable with your life,

with tradition,

or are you open to something different?"

this girl, who is twelve, is pretty taken by the show as well,

the faith and love of children,

it is a beautiful thing to see and a worthy example to follow

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child to Him, and placed the child among them. And He said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me.' " Matthew 18:1-5
