Present and presence

One of the best presents you can give people is your presence.

Proximity has nothing to do with presence.

There is a monumental difference between
being there and "being there".

Some of the people who are most present in my life
are miles and miles away.

There is nothing wrong with not "being there"
unless you fake that you are.

We have all been the victim.

We have all been the perpetrator.

No one can be the "giver" 100% of the time
and no one should expect to be the receiver 100% of the time.

If you can't be "present",
at least be honest,
don't pretend you are.
Don't be hurt when you are "left out of the loop".
Don't expect from others what you are not willing to give.

If you do practice being present,
don't expect others to give as you have given to them.
Sometimes they simply cannot do it.
Allow yourself freedom to accept
God's presents and presence
however He chooses to send them
and even if you are disappointed, you will not be devastated.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
Colossians 3:23-24
