Variety...
Today has been a mixture of textures and tastes.
This morning the little girls and I went out in the backyard and picked red raspberries. We came in, cleaned them and made a cobbler.
This afternoon we all went out to work on the lawn of the vacation house of a friend who lives out of state. I get paid to play in the flowers :)
Three little girls ran and pranced and used the gate in the arched trellis as a paddock. Giggles echoed.
The heavens opened - the rain poured - and we all worked away at our jobs.
Ruth kept mowing, I continued pruning and the girls had fun. They used the overflow from the gutters as a waterfall. Ruth and I relished the coolness the shower brought. The smell of freshly cut grass and rain, and squeals of delight from three little girls. What joy.
We finished our work and piled into the two vehicles to come home. After getting clean and dry we used the new ice shaver to make snow cones. Everyone got to choose their favorite flavor :)
Now the littlest one is napping and her two older sisters are playing Mario Cart with their momma.
Little Caesar's Pizza, crazy crusted, is already planned for dinner.
If it doesn't rain later, we will catch lightning bugs.
Today has been a wonderful "grandma camp" day!
