interrupted prayers

sometimes your prayer time gets interrupted
and the lists you pray over daily out of love and concern,
with answers highlighted and "unanswered" requests still open,
suddenly get dropped,
scattered,
literally,
temporarily forgotten-
not because they are not important,
you know you will get back to them at some point,
just maybe not today...
because the text 
or the phone call
or the message you received while praying through the lists
seizes your attention 
and your desire to pray,
your understanding of what prayer is,
your need to be in the presence of God pouring out your heart,
drives you to your knees 
with a gut wrenching,
life altering request...
and you ugly cry,
groaning,
beseeching God with a stronger fervor
from a much deeper level than normal,
thankful for good Kleenex close at hand 
and especially grateful for the Spirit who intervenes on our behalf

Romans 8:26-27

^" Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 

And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."
