election 2020 308/366

What is the "right" thing to say, to do, as the first Tuesday of November 2020 winds down and ballots are counted and results are tallied and many people wait, on the edge of their seats, eager to know the final result? And what about Wednesday morning, and Thursday and Friday and every day after?

Remember, this is 2020.

Nothing has been "normal" since mid-March.

God already knows the outcome.

Regardless of who wins, He has an eternal plan He is working.

We don't have to understand it.

We don't have to like it.

We don't have to agree with it.

But personal experience has taught me that if I will trust Him fully, especially when I don't understand or agree or like what He is doing, and if I will obey Him and follow the example Jesus set for how to treat others, including those I disagree with and those who count me an enemy, He will be pleased and I will have peace. So, as the first Tuesday of November 2020 comes to a close, these are the words I would leave you with for the days to come, regardless of the election outcomes.

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people..." 1 Timothy 2:1-6
