it's more than holding hands

There's something beautiful and powerful about having a loving, protective hand holding yours.  Providing stability to someone who is a little wobbly. Saying "I want to connect with you." Whispering, "I want to maintain a connection to you." Encouragement, love, comfort, reassurance and more, communicated without a word being spoken. I miss holding my husband's hand. I miss holding my children's hands as they outgrew the need. I miss having grandchildren close enough to walk with hand in hand.  The wonder and appreciation of it is something I don't imagine I will ever outgrow.
