I've gathered acorns for decorating or craft purposes.

Animals gather them as a food source.

I've watched my children, 

and now my grandchildren,

collect them as if they are a treasure!

I've also ignored them.

Or taken them for granted.

They are small.

They are common.

But the potential inside each one is enormous!

Isn't that also true for the "unremarkable" things in our lives?

Oh, the potential that is hidden in what is ordinary.

Our perspective affects our appreciation for small, humble things.

I pray for eyes to see as children see.

And I hope at least one of those acorns is the seed of a mighty oak!
