always thankful?

When you come to visit me,

this is what will greet you first. 

The sign is another gift from my children.

I saw it, I liked it, they bought it for me.

It is a reminder and a challenge.

Do I 

always,

always,

always

feel

thankful?

No.

But let's be honest-

feelings are an unreliable source 

for basing life choices on.

Finding something to be thankful for is a choice.

Sometimes being thankful 

involves sacrifice.

There is freedom in knowing 

I can be thankful

even when I don't feel thankful.

"For here we have no lasting city, 

but we seek the city that is to come. 

Through Him (Jesus) 

then let us (believers) continually offer up 

a sacrifice of praise to God, 

that is, 

the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name."

Hebrews 13:14-15
